Stage One 2012

Superbacon 2012

By | Uncategorized

Oh, what a night, what a night
First of all, here’s our first video of the stage in action. Was it awesome? I think you know the answer to that question (it’s yes). Second of all, how cool of a name is Superbacon for a club night? I imagine some sort of pork-based super hero vigilante, above the law and out for justice. Anyways, it happened to (almost) be my birthday that night, which only helped to compound the awesomeness-per-cubic-inch (ACI) in that club. Sure, there were some Debbie and Daniel Downers, who were conspicuously -not- dancing at first, but I got them in the end. Check out the video, and come to the ultimate conclusion that you want to be there next time.

Also, if I might append, that place makes awesome wraps. I had this chili/chicken wrap that blew my mind. If we ever play there again and you’re there too, you gotta come, sit down and have a wrap with Benni, Philipp and I.

Update on Stage One

By | Uncategorized

Wow, thanks to everybody for showing us such a great response!
After uploading our promo video a few days ago, the internet has been showing us resounding support. Within a few days, we reached 15,000 views and were featured on some blogs that we love. Needless to say, I’ve been playing loud music and jumping around my apartment all day. So stoked. We’ve already secured some gigs and are really looking forward to the future (ah, time travel, why can’t you come sooner?). Once again, thanks to everybody for the amazing support…

Presenting the Paranormal Unicorn: Stage One

Presenting: The Paranormal Unicorn!
Hello world, we are the Paranormal Unicorn, an audio-visual collective bent on ruling the world (eventually). For now, we’ve settled with creating amazing, audio-visual light installations meant for the juiciest of parties, festivals and goings-ons. If you’re not too sure what I’m talking about, check out the video real quick. Go ahead, I’ll wait. Pretty sweet, right? Yeah, modesty was never my strong point.

Let me introduce the team.
We’re a small outfit of three guys: Benni, carpenter extraordinaire, in charge of physical production and construction. Philipp, DJ and anything else he needs to be. And myself, Stefan, mostly dealing with programming and electronics for the project. Though usually, everybody does a little bit of everything.

About half a year of blood, sweat and alcohol went into producing the stage
In the fall of 2011, Benni came to me with an idea. He wanted to create an array of “light cubes” of different sizes. The longer we talked the more it sounded like it could actually be viable. A few days later, we had the first rough draft of what it could like. Half a year later, we were standing in the workshop, melting our faces off staring into the lights. So it is with much pride that we show this video to you and hope that you enjoy it just as much as we did.
